You may have noticed that some of the new features in Windows Live Mail Beta have gone missing! Well, you’re right. We hit a couple of bumps with M6, our most recent release, but we’re working hard (and very late on a Friday) to bring back the great new features. In the meantime, we’ve restored the service to the prior release so that you can access your mail quickly and reliably without hitting any of those bumps. This is all new stuff we’re doing so we appreciate your patience while we work the kinks out.
For all you Firefox users out there, this means that you’re getting our Classic Hotmail experience for the time being. Don’t worry – we’ll get your new Windows Live experience working as soon as we can. And if you’ve been enjoying your Russian language version of Windows Live Mail, we’ll bring that right back, too.

Most of the time I have to use the "light" version because my signal is to weak and it won\’t let me open emails…now I can\’t even sign in, it boots me to some bogus sign up page. Helloooo, I already have an account, which by the way I pay for. If this keeps up I\’m droping this acount and taking my business elsewhere.

Ok, so I finally figured out how to go back to the old version of hotmail. Options -> More Options -> "Switch to MSN Hotmail" (located on the left hand side of the screen.
Whatever moron came up with this compulsory beta test needs to be shot. Don\’t push a product on customers, and then hide the option of rolling back to the classic mail they are used to. Do this to me again, and I am switching to gmail.

As much as you think the new Windows Live feature is all grande since you worked hard on it, I, a consumer and user believe that the old MSN Hotmail interface is much more better. I too hate this new version of classic windows live email. I didn\’t ask for it and am very upset it has been updated without my knowledge or acceptance. I would have expected to at least been given the option of chosing my preference of usage. I am no longer able to access my hotmail account from my home. I must travel 20 miles if I want to use it. You put me on this Windows Live once and I was able to get off. Now you put me on again. Put me back on the old MSN Hotmail it was so much better. Also when one contacts you for help, you never have the decency to reply. PUT ME BACK ON THE MSN HOTMAIL.
I hate Windows Live. The interface is horrible. There is endless extra clicking to get things done. The help is out of date. It\’s incredibly slow. There are no options to customize how I want to do email.

I hate this interface. I want my old hotmail back. I was switched a few months ago and I had the option to change back. This morning I logged in and all was well. Tonight, with no warning, all of a sudden I have Microsoft Live. I have tried everything to change it back and I see the option has been removed. What\’s your problem? It\’s clear that there are TONS of us who hate this. I think I will join my husband over on Yahoo.
I too would much prefer the old version. I send e-flyersnwith gig listings to a lot of people, and now I can no longer change the background colour (even though it appears you have the option to). When you click it, however: NOTHING CHANGES. It\’s very frustrating. The links I added to a mass email also didn\’t appear as hyperlinks – where the old version of hotmail would automatically recognise this.
PLEASE, PLEASE allow those who wish to change back to do so. I am actually considering changing to another service because of this.

Why is it that you can give a choice between Windows Live & the Classic version, but NOT the regular old HOTMAIL?? I\’ve heard: "MSN Hotmail has recently been replaced by Windows Live Hotmail (WLH) in order to better provide users with the features and functionality they have requested" I never requested any features. Life is already too complicated. Why can\’t you give us a choice? There have been people using BOTH since you started this whole thing, what\’s the difference? You had a good thing going with a lot of people happy — I know a lot of people who stayed with HOTMAIL specifically because they satisfied their users and gave them a choice. I\’ve been a hotmail user for years and have been happy up until now. I HAVE received the notices, but I just can\’t understand why you would cater to only SOME of your users by claiming "That is what they requested", while there are others of us WHO HAVE NOT requested ANYTHING to be changed, yet you did anyhow WITHOUT giving US the choice to be satisfied. If you want to UPGRADE — FINE — but make it an OPTION for those you say have been requesting it! It is just frustrating when you have something that you know so well, and then to just switch it WITHOUT your consent — makes it like WORK instead of the leisure that most people use HOTMAIL for! I can\’t believe this is supposed to be the new revolution!! The old Hotmail was behind Gmail and yahoo-but atleast it was familiar and it worked!! The new version\’s interface looks worse then the last, extra ads and distracting links to today pages and live pages and slower too! I can\’t believe they got rid of the favorites contacts. The text is all running together without paragraphs on the replies, there is less emails displayed on each page in the inbox with no option to change the settings(I had 8pgs of emails-now I have 33!?). I was expecting a must more estetically pleasing, easier to use hotmail-but the scrolls menus are still there, the side panel is messier then ever, and they still don\’t track emails as conversations like gmail-this is such an infuriating disappointment! I have been patiently waiting for years for hotmail to get better and now a worse version gets forced on us-unbelievable! When is Microsoft going to get a clue and catch up!!!

I hate the new Live Hotmail and I really hate that they switched me and others without any warning or choice. None of the features work as well. The display screen lists only a few messages. Attaching photos is a huge hassle. Formatting is more difficult. I\’m leaving Hotmail entirely if they don\’t put the old regular program back.
I\’m also probably going to get rid of my 3 PCs altogether and return to MACs, which I left 10 years ago. After years of crashing PCs and windows programs that have never come even close to the ease and flexibilty of the MAC, there\’s no reason to stay. I only switched for the HD capacity and support for my statistical software at the time, issues which have long been resolved.
They even make it almost impossible to send a complaint – not that it would matter anyway, as they don\’t really seem to care whether people are happy with their software or not. Well, It will be great to be able to say, "I love my MAC again!
